Will Russell Custom Shop

The Custom Shop is designed to provide a full customer experience from fitting to delivery. Footwear fit is as much about personal preference as it is about the actual fit of the boot. Every style of shoe will fit differently, and having a professional fit you is the best way to ensure you make the best choice possible. 

At the Custom Shop we offer Narrow, Medium, Wide, and Extra Wide fits. One of our staff will measure your foot, length and width, using a Brannock Device. This provides a starting point for determining which last will best fit your foot both day one and once the boot or shoe has conformed to your foot through wear. 

In the past, fitting was done through measurements alone, and often by the customers themselves. While this can yield good results, there are too many variables for it to be accurate. By fitting you in a sizing boot, you can actually try multiple fits and work with our fitting professional to determine what feels right to you. 

In addition to the fitting process, the custom shop offers you our full range of leathers and soles. The primary parts of the boot are standardized to the best version of that model, so you can’t go wrong.

Our fitting professional will walk you through the options and help determine what would be best for the environment you would like to use the boot in.

What the Custom Shop is NOT:

We are not foot doctors, and no shoe is going to solve your foot problems. True Moccasin Construction CANNOT accommodate orthotics or other buildups. Large bunions, hammer toes, and other foot problems also cannot be accommodated by our process. This is not because we don’t want your business, but rather because if we are going to do something, we want to be able to do it right. If we can’t do that, we will not take your order. 

Can I use my old measurements to place an order?

Our new custom process does not rely on the old measurement system whatsoever. We cannot take orders based on old sizing. Every new custom order will require an in-person fitting where you will determine the best fit before your order.

Lead Times of the Custom Shop:

From payment of your order, the order will get cut immediately. It will then be stored until a bootmaker is available to begin the time intensive process of hand-lasting, and hand-sewing your pair of boots. No process at Russell is automated. Every cut and every seam is the result of a craftsman’s art. We strive to get boots from the Will Russell Custom Shop completed in 6 months. This timeline is an ESTIMATE. We will be working diligently to meet the expectation of 6 months, but if something unforeseen happens, the boot could be delayed. When this happens it is typically because a part of the process needs to be re-done or re-started. Our goal is not speed, it is quality and longevity. If you require your boots immediately, please order from our In-Stock offerings.

Refund and Adjustment Policy

Footwear from the Will Russell Custom Shop is non-refundable due to the fact that it is designed specifically for you. Minor adjustments can be made for a nominal charge.
